Real-time monitoring

Nothing for the patient to do. Nothing for your team to chase.

Every dose is captured automatically. The moment adherence slips, your site team hears about it. The patient doesn't need to open the app and there's no portal for your team to police.

What's different

We take work away from the two busiest people in the trial.

Adherence monitoring can add work such as asking patients to complete actions on an app and manual dashboards for the site teams. Pill Connect takes a job off both instead.

01

For the patient

Zero-touch capture

The patient presses the button to take a dose. This and every miss, is uploaded on its own in the background. No need to open the app, no manual syncing action to complete, no remembering to record or upload.

02

For the site team

Monitoring by exception

Pill Connect watches the data so your team doesn't have to. When adherence slips, an email reaches the site team with the details of exactly when and what happened. The signal comes to you, instead of waiting in a dashboard for someone to find it.

Why it matters

See adherence as it happens. Act before it's too late.

  1. Detect missed or delayed doses in real time, rather than discovering gaps weeks later through pill counts or diary reviews.

  2. Maintain full adherence visibility throughout the trial, including periods when participants are dosing at home between scheduled site visits.

  3. Interpret efficacy results with greater confidence by mapping objective adherence patterns against other trial variables.

  4. Replace methods that depend on self-reporting with automated, time-stamped dosing records.

You don't go looking. We tell you.

Monitoring shouldn't mean logging in and searching for problems. Pill Connect watches the data and emails the right person the moment something needs attention.

How it works

From a missed dose to an early conversation.

  1. A dose is dispensed, or missed. The patient workflow remains the same.
  2. Data uploads automatically. Every event is sent automatically from the bottle. No patient action.
  3. Pill Connect detects a problem. A pattern of missed, delayed doses or incorrect dosing is flagged as it happens.
  4. The site team gets an email. Configurable by the site team so you're informed only when you need to be.
  5. The conversation starts early. “Weekend mornings only,” or “evening doses only”. Be informed of the key details to start a conversation on why non-adherence occurred.

And the data is yours. Although you don't need to log into anything to get adherence alerts, the data is still available for export from a web app at all times.

Data, Access & Monitoring

  1. How is data collected from the Pill Connect dispenser?

The Pill Connect dispenser records events such as pill dispensing and bottle swaps. This data is read by a smartphone app and transmitted to remote monitoring platforms. This process is done in the background with no need for the patient to open the app or do any actions. It just needs the app installed, configured at the start of the study for their bottle and to come into range when the dispenser has new data.

  2. Can sites or CROs access adherence data remotely?

Yes. Adherence data recorded by Pill Connect is transmitted via smartphone to remote monitoring platforms, allowing sites and CROs to review adherence information remotely during a clinical trial. This can be email alerts that are configured at the start based on specified content, timing and triggers, or by requesting a data export.
