App Terms of Use
Effective 12 August 2026Last updated 12 August 2026
These terms govern your use of the Pill Connect app ("the app"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who we are
The app is provided by Pill Connect Limited — registered in England and Wales, company number 08719563, at 125 Deansgate, Manchester, M3 2BY, United Kingdom. You can reach us at info@pill-connect.com.
What the app is
The app is a free companion reader for a study medication dispenser. It reads activity from your dispenser over Bluetooth and sends it to your study. It is intended only for people who have been enrolled in a clinical study by a study coordinator, and it requires the study dispenser and a valid enrolment.
Not a medical device — no medical advice
THE APP IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE. IT DOES NOT DIAGNOSE, TREAT, CURE, OR PREVENT ANY MEDICAL CONDITION, AND IT DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE, DOSING RECOMMENDATIONS, OR A DIAGNOSIS. Information shown in the app is for reference only.
Do not rely on the app to decide whether or when to take your medication. Follow the instructions given by your study team and your healthcare professional, and contact your study site with any question about your medication, your dispenser, or your health.
Your device and connectivity
You are responsible for having a compatible phone and operating system, a working Bluetooth connection, and internet access to use the app. We do not guarantee that the app is compatible with every device, or that it will operate without interruption or error.
Your licence to use the app
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to use the app for your participation in your study. This licence ends when your participation ends or when these terms are terminated.
Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- use the app unlawfully, or other than for your own participation in a study you are enrolled in;
- copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
- interfere with the app, the dispenser, our systems, or any security or authentication measures; or
- sell, rent, sub-licence, or otherwise make the app available to anyone else.
Intellectual property
The app and its content are owned by Pill Connect Limited or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. The app is licensed, not sold; we and our licensors keep all rights not expressly granted to you.
Your study is separate
Your participation in the clinical study — including your consent, how your study data is used, your rights over it, and how long it is kept — is governed by your study's documents and your study team, not by these terms. These terms cover only your use of the app software. How the app handles information is explained in our App Privacy Policy.
No warranties
The app is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind about the app, whether express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your reliance on the app for any medical or dosing decision. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Suspension and ending your use
We may suspend or withdraw the app, or your access to it, for example on the end of your study participation or if you breach these terms. You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it; unenrolling or uninstalling deletes the study data held on your phone.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
